Jaylen Sanchez received the Children Have the Power to Empower® Award for the outstanding act of goodness she performed by setting up a free lemonade stand in her front yard and donating all the money she raised through voluntary contributions-which totaled $1,400-to children in need. She donated money toward uniforms and backpacks for a local shelter; school supplies and backpacks for needy students at her school; scholarships for students who are not able to pay for catechism at her local church; and the purchase of food for the homeless.
